How Our Brewery Got Started

What started as a hobby some 20-ish years ago, Sean’s homebrewing quickly took over all his free time. Like every homebrewer, he wanted to open his own brewery. Not that easy. With continuous encouragement from family and friends, the desire to pursue his passion and his wife’s blessing, of course, the garage operation finally became his career. It took hours, weeks, months, and years of hard work, late night brainstorming sessions, and a few beers (few too many), to bring it all together. It now has been over 10 years and everything is going well…

Nowadays, beers that once were only shared amongst family and friends at block parties, birthday celebrations, baseball games, and CSU tailgates, and weddings are now enjoyed by the masses. A small step toward the end goal of taking over the world, someday…

Black Bottle Brewery: Est. 2010

Black Bottle Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado, brews radical beer and uses radical craft beer ingredients. BBB first opened its doors back in December of 2012. We are officially over 7 years open now. Anyways, after homebrewing beer for years and years Sean, the founder, and brewmaster pulled a amazing group together to make it a way of life all about Beer.

Why call it Black Bottle you might ask? Blue Collar, underdog, Black Sheep, BLACK BOTTLE.. Plus any other color would not sound as cool.

What Does our Craft Brewery in Fort Collins Have to Offer?

Located in the heart of Midtown Fort Collins, CO. Black Bottle Brewery not only brews awesome craft beer in house, but we also offer a full food menu through our full-service kitchen. With 40 different beers on tap, we offer a wide selection of our own pride and joy, but don’t shy away from opening up our taps to our friends in the industry around the area or even around the world. Bringing in national favorites such as; Odell, Jolly Pumpkin, Sierra Nevada, and New Belgium, to name a few, our brewery has one of the widest selections of craft beer in Fort Collins as well as wine and a full bar. On top of that, you’ll often find a few taps pouring beers from international breweries as well. In addition to those fine craft beers, our coolers are always stocked with a crazy good selection of bottled beers from all over the place. If you feel like kickin’ “it ol school,” you can even ask for that 40oz of OE (Old English) in a brown paper bag. We won’t judge.

You won’t find a food truck here because we have a full service restaurant to fill your plate. Couple any of our beers with a full menu of gourmet food, not just beer nuts. We’re the beer nuts.

Where Can You Find Our Craft brewery in Fort Collins?

Our craft brewery’s convenient location right next to the Hilton of Fort Collins on the corner of Prospect and College, near the Transfort Max Bus stop and Music Hot City Chicken, and close proximity to the Colorado State University campus, and CSU STADIUM makes coming and going a cinch. Not to mention, we are backed up to the Mason Bike Trail, making arriving by bike super easy! Don’t worry, we have plenty of parking for all modes of transportation, so come by car, truck, van, motorcycle, scooter, bike, skateboard, foot, parachute, spaceship, etc., we’ll have you covered. Please no rollerblades…
